exhibit proposal

i am thinking of either doing Kenny and showcaseing his favorite things including his love of dying. i chose kenny because he is my favorite south park character and i would display the exhibit out of papper bag. or plan b doing kitty. she is a 70s housewife who is a fictional character that is loosely based off of red's wife kittie from that 70s show. i will explore what housewifes really do when they are home all day. i would display her out of a suit case from the 70s.

Art Museum Opinion

i had never actually seen the american collection. i thought the frames were sort of gaudy. i really liked the silver room. and i likedd how there was a trail of bread crumbs so to speak. i tend to not like the portraits because they looked to posed but i really liked the portrait of the girl of the ciggrette because there was a lot of emotion in the picture.

t-shirt woes

so my original idea was taking this image and then i ws going to put a June Cleaver dress on her. then my friend Kezia pointed out the secret society of pin up house wives. so i scratched that idea. then i went to dance an we danced to the pink panther theme. so i thought i would use the pink panther and turn him into a pimp. so i was looking for images to merge and i couldn't find any pimp hats facing the right way. so then i looked up gangsters and the hats fit and they did. so i tried to print the transfers at home but my printer ate them. so then i called kinkos and they told me that they don't print on tee shirt transfers. so i used the spray paint and stencil plan and it failed but it is all i got.

movie posters

elephant represents the way that modern high schoolers dont interact with each other.

public enemies reprsents the gangsters and socital sterotypes of the 30's. the movie deals with the capture of john dillinger and his crew who are natorius bank robbers. the costumes and acting are perfect reactments of the 30's.

casablanca is the ideal representation of the early 40's. this movie deals with the invasion of france. the characters are all coming together over lost love and escaping the war. the movie captures the essence of struggles of WWII.

the breakfast club is an ideal representation of teenagers in the 80's. the movie has a jock, brain, princess, basketcase, and a criminal and each of thoes characters accuratly and perfictly portared the typical streotypes of the time. they also realise that they have a lot in common.

Cooley Gallery Response

i was actually a tad bit disappointed. i had expected the collection to cover many mediums. i want to see the rest of the collection tho because i like the study of the nude. i think that with photography as my main medium Edward Weston is the most influential nude photographer at least for me when it comes to photographing the nude. both the collection and Weston both distort the nude and makes the model look like a real women. i enjoyed hearing the curators thoughts on the topics as well.
